1. Sales of the all-electric EV9 three-row SUV increased 39% month-on-month, contributing to Kia's highest EV monthly sales in history with 7,197 units sold, up 127% year-on-year.
2. Total May sales for Hyundai Motor rose 12% to 78,485 units, with record performances from IONIQ 5 (+82%), IONIQ 6 (+13%), Tucson HEV (+54%), and the Santa Fe HEV (+116%), while EV sales increased 42%.
3. Major luxury electric vehicle market participants include Audi, Volvo, BMW, Tesla, Maserati, Porsche, and Mercedes-Benz, with the market expected to exceed $413.2 billion by 2032.
4. May 2024 BYD achieved a total monthly sales of 331,817 New Energy Vehicles.
5. Hyundai N aims for a fourth consecutive TCR class victory at the Nürburgring 24 Hours and will debut the 687 PS IONIQ 5 N TA Spec at the event, targeting Electric Production and Modified SUV/Crossover records at Pikes Peak.
6. The 2025 Kia EV9, the first EV assembled in Georgia, joins the award-winning Telluride, Sorento, and Sportage SUVs at Kia's West Point facility following a $200 million expansion that created approximately 200 new jobs.
7. The opening of Lucid's retail studio in City Walk, Dubai, marks the company's second retail space in the Middle East and its 38th worldwide.
8. Delivering 20,544 vehicles in May 2024, an increase of 233.8% year-over-year, NIO set a new record for monthly deliveries and brought its cumulative total to 515,811 vehicles.
9. The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S, Jeep's first global battery-electric vehicle initially launching in the U.S. and Canada, boasts 600 horsepower, more than 800 Nm of torque, and a range exceeding 300 miles.
10. In May 2024, ZEEKR announced delivery of 18,616 vehicles, marking a 115% year-over-year increase, with cumulative deliveries reaching 264,397 vehicles by the end of the month.
11. GreenPower Motor Company will unveil a new, state-of-the-art, all-electric refrigerated truck at Home Delivery World in Philadelphia.
12. A new EV car-sharing program, launching in Spokane in June, is a collaboration between Seattle-based Zero Emission Vehicle Cooperative (ZEV Co-op), Urbanova, Gonzaga University, and Avista, offering convenient access to clean, carbon-free vehicles with charging stations located behind Gonzaga's Sustainability Office on Sharp Avenue.
